NCAI President Joe Garcia to Deliver 5th Annual State of Indian Nations Address January 25, 2007 in Washington D.C.

WASHINGTON—January 22, 2007—The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) President Joe A. Garcia will deliver the 5th annual State of Indian Nations Address on Thursday, January 25, 2007 from the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Press from around the country will be able to teleconference into the event by calling the telephone number listed below. The speech will be delivered two days after President Bush's State of the Union Address and is a forum for relaying to the President, the American public and Indian Nations the general state of America’s Indian nations. Themes will include: economic development; trust reform; the protection of American Indian tribal sovereignty; homeland security; and the many other issues currently facing Indian nations.
