Q & A with Ted Pawlicki What is your favorite colot? Red. My first car was fire red and I always like wearing red shirts. In a few words, how would your friends describe you? Funny and a friend to all reptiles In a few words, how would your colleagues describe you? Energetic, creative, fun In a few words, how would your family describe you? Dedicated, generous, and the maker of smiles What does your family think you do for a living? They think I work in the video production field and am always looking for ideas for short films and different projects. They also have used my skills for their companies and hobbies to make videos for them. What is your professional background? It started out at a bottom of the totem pole job working at ESPN and then moving to a production house in Chicago where I got my start really working in post production and editing. It was in Chicago where I learned my craft and saw some amazing editors at work. I worked on productions for The Weather Channel, The History Channel and A&E. I left Chicago and went back to Minnesota and somehow began teaching video production at the junior and senior high levels. I, with the kids, revamped two full studios and had broadcasting up within the first 6 months. We expanded the program with little interest to being one of the most popular and talked about classes in the schools. I also started with the purchase of some of my own equipment and started my own freelance/production company where I did Documentaries, Highlight videos for High School sports teams and any other work I could find. Moving to the DC area I began teaching more classes in AVID and field and studio productions...And now I am here at Flying Colors where the sky is the limit. What is your favorite age? Twenty-two ‘cause I don't really remember any of 21. Who is your best friend? Best client? My best friend is my girlfriend Nancy. We talk about anything and everything, she always is so cute I can't help but laughing. I always want to make her laugh and think I do a good job at it too... My best friend who is a boy...Well I have a few...My old school best is my buddy Jenks who is by far the funniest person I have ever met. He can floor at any given time. My Buddy Menke who has some of the craziest energy and when we get together the energy is so high we go crazy. My boy C.C. who without him life would be dull, planned and expected. He keeps me on my toes with his 3AM messages and songs. These cats are the guys that I see going to football games and hanging out with when I am 80. What is your favorite "tool" at your work? THE AVID-I could sit and edit all day long…and that is what I do…. * * * * * |
