Webcast Information

This Webcast is the first of two related professional development opportunities that focus on integrating multicultural approaches in Head Start and Early Head Start programs.  Part of the year-long series, Ready for Success: Supporting DLLs in Head Start and Early Head Start, this Webcast will feature the new resource handbook, Revisiting and Updating the Multicultural Principles for Head Start Programs Serving Children Ages Birth to Five. This resource handbook highlights the ten original Multicultural Principles and includes new sections about research, key implications, and reflective questions. A User’s Guide will be forthcoming.

The Webcast will be divided into three segments. Segments will include video clips from classroom settings and highlight practical suggestions for integrating the multicultural principles into program services and operations.

Topics for the Webcast include:
- What role does culture play in children’s development?

- What does a culturally responsive curriculum look like?

- How can programs make all families feel welcome?

- How can programs develop culturally responsive services and systems?
